Where “three rivers (Aoos, Sarandaporos, Voidomatis) and three mountains (Tymfi, Smolikas, Grammos) intersect”, the balcony of North Pindos, the manorial town of Konitsa, stands majestically. Walking on the old cobbled streets we will find unique bridges, ornate churches and mosques, old stone mansions. More than a thousand years of turbulent history have left their mark on the place that was once one of the most important administrative, commercial and cultural centers of the Balkans. We will walk on the largest single-arched bridge in the Balkans, the legendary bridge of Konitsa, We will stand in the serai of the mother of the legendary Ali Pasha, in the house of Hamko, in the house of Agios Paisios, the mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent. We will drink coffee in the center of the modern town and we will wander in space and time reviving the atmosphere of the legendary old bazaar. We will head to the chapel of Agia Varvara from where we will gaze at the imposing mountains and the whole valley of Aoos to the Greek-Albanian border. During our trip we will not fail to try sweet and savory local delicacies.
